I crewed Tevis for a friend several years ago. My favorite part was waiting at the finish line for my rider. There is quite a crowd there and it was fun to cheer and clap every rider and horse that crossed the finish line. We even cheered a small doe who wandered out of the woods and onto the last few feet of trail!

If you wait there dress WARM as it's gets cold. Lots of folks dressed warm and wrapped themselves up in the horse blanket they had waiting for the horse. Many folks don't finish until near the cutoff time at 5:15am, so it can be a cold long wait.

But I thought it was great.
