Re: [RC] choice and training horses - Rob LoseyJen,Your right! Sadly alot of good horses and mules get passed on from owner to owner, and go from trainer to trainer. The trainers say they can't be trained. People have expectations of what a horse should learn in 30 or 60 days. Trainers try to meet those expectation. But some just need more time and patents. Some of the best I've ever seen just learned slow. Some never got the chance. Sounds like your horses are lucky to have you. Some say a horse or mule will only do what it wants to do. They may be right. But once you have the right relationship with your horse, it may still do only what it wants, and now one of the things it wants to do is to please you. Some will die to please their owner. They will do all we ask. Not forced, they do it willingly. They are the best. But that's why we must be so careful what we ask. This was said earlier this week. Maybe not said well be the point was the horse didn't have a choice, not because it was forced, because it was asked.
