[RC] Cramping/tying up - Sheila_Larsen

I wonder from what you described if he had a "true tie-up" along with the
associated chemical imbalances and not just a muscle cramp. You ponied him
and then worked him in the arena. I suspect that when you worked him in
the arena in the bungee type set up he was using rump muscles in a way that
he previously had not used them (can't say if it was a good or bad way just
differently) and they simply cramped like a charly horse. He also may
have been more tired than you thought from the ponying. Also you may have
had has frame set up too tightly, again can't really comment but something
for you to think about, Just remember that lunging a horse in a frame can
be harder on them than you think.

"We stand guard over works of art, but species representing the works of
eons are stolen from under our noses." Aldo Leopold.
