RE: [RC] [RC] tying up - Ranelle RubinIMHO it was a combinatoin of both. Except in NV where water is too scarce, most alfalfa is grown with gravity-flow irrigation. This method washes out alot of valuable minerals from the soil, causing the crop grown to be defficient. The most common mineral washed out is Selenium. If you have heard of the Kesterson Resevoir disaster in CA, you know what I am talking about.We are so at the mercy of whatever good quality hay we can find.
