Re: [RC] [RC] horse not urinating - Soli SorokinOn 1/19/06, Heidi Vanderbilt <luckypupranch@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: We have a gelding who boards here who was on the track in his youth. Whenever I feed him, he urinates. As a youngster, he was given treats and whistled to when he peed, so he could be drug tested. You might ask a track trainer exactly how the do this. My arabian gelding has, for the past two years, always urinated when he sees me coming to the pen either with feed or with a halter. I assumed it was because he does not like peeing while under saddle, and we've been doing longer rides the last two years, on a more regular basis. I've had him his whole life, so this is just something he developed on his own - but the interesting thing is that he has taught the other horses that live near him to do the same. So, as soon as I am visible, I have a mare, two geldings, and a stallion peeing at almost the same time. It's a bit comical. ~S =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
