Re: [RC] [RC] OT-horse wormer question - Diane TrefethenI was under the impression that the so-called Panacur Purge was only to be administered to horses who where up to date on their wormings and were NOT heavily infested. I believe it had to do with the massive worm kill that would result in a badly infested horse and that the slow movement of the dead worms gave them time to decay and release toxins that could be fatal to the horse, especially one in a weakened state. Could someone more knowledgeable about this technique write to clarify the issue?Raven wrote: I would begin with a fecal count to see how bad the infestation is. Then I would do a Panacur Power Pack, double dose of panacur every day for 10 days. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
