Re: [RC] Getting the guts to actually do it-100's - rides2far@xxxxxxxxI have NEVER taken care of myself thru ANY ride. Here's what I love...most of the time I'm considered a problem snacker and have to fight the fact that I'm a natural pig. Then, suddenly when I go to a ride and let my guard down it's suddenly called "taking care of myself". :-)) I mean, come on people...now hard is it to get a handful of Pringles and munch them when you're in the vet line? I make 2 sandwiches the night before even a 50. I eat oatmeal for breakfast and by the first vet check I can't wait to eat a turkey sandwich Next check I'll eat a PB&J. I can't NOT eat...not because I'm sick, or taking care of myself, but because I LIKE FOOD! My only change at a ride is that I DON'T DIET. The best peanut butter crackers I've ever eaten were handed out as we walked along at the 95 mile mark of Biltmore. Ever since that night I always have peanut butter crackers in my pack. I even fed Joni an imaginary one. (I offered her a real one and she reached out, pantamined taking it, and started thoughtfully chewing on an imaginary cracker). Here's some good reasons to do 100. One, you can eat all you want guilt free. Two, you can lay around and not ride your horse for weeks afterward...guilt free!
