[RC] Getting the guts to actually do it-100's - Tiffany D'VirgilioSo-for those of us seriously contemplating the lunacy of doing a 100- what are some of the best rides for a first timer? Also, please address the importance of a crew and any other issues and needs that are different from 50's. It's not the riding and pacing, or night riding that give me the willies, it is picking the ride and getting the crewing, logistics and of course, preparing my body for the pain of it, though I suppose the pain can't be too different from 50's. I've been aiming to do a 100 since before I started, and now that I have a horse more suited to it (she just trots all day, takes care of herself, doesn't waste energy, and doesn't pull my arms off for 25 miles), I'll be looking to do one next year if I can get up my nerve. I almost never have a crew, so I guess I'll have to hit up my friends:)Also, it's tough to get to many 100's. It's got to be somewhat close to home because I have small children. There just aren't that many of them anymore. Tiffany =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
