That's why I've always preferred Arabs for riding range and hunting, too--they notice stuff and let you know about it.  My good ranch Arabs would prick their ears if they spotted cattle somewhere off in the distance--if they did that, I knew it was worth following their senses because something would be there.

Ditto to Joe....both Sunny and Magic participate in Mounted Search and
Rescue. They will go places that other horses will not, their senses seem to
be keener in a search operation,
