Re: [RC] Safety issue with goosenecks - rides2farSheila, I have puzzled over this for several days. Now, I confess I don't understand what a railroad track with low clearance is? Do you mean under a bridge? I know this one because it happened to my 4-H instructor. If there is a rather sharp rise & descent when you drive up and over the railroad tracks you may end up with your long trailer's rear wheels on the grade going up, and the truck on the grade going down, with your trailer hung up sitting on the railroad tracks. Another thing that can get you is a traffic light just past the railroad tracks. If the light stops you with your trailer still on the tracks, that can be a problem. There's two routes out of the road I live on. One goes under RR tracks and one goes over. I do not take the gooseneck over the tracks.
