Re: [RC] Barbaro Update//Live Cover Rule--What Do You Think? - Beverley H. Kane, MDI have been thinking about the live cover issue. I have heard 1st hand from a vet who used to work at racing barns that this rule gets violated. Does anyone think this rule is a good idea anyway? Maybe Barbaro's predicament will mark a revolution in thinking about the expense, trauma, and red tape of the TB industry breeding dogma, especially now that DNA testing is widely available. I highly recommend "$TUD: Adventures in Breeding" by Kevin Conley. The cover horse, Storm Cat, earns a record $500,000 per tryst. I bet not even Bruce Weary gets that. I think they went into this with full knowledge that even if they could save his life, live cover may never be possible. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
