RE: [RC] TB Racing, Soundness, Speed, Hooves - Kristen A FisherOh I meant to add that Arab racing will never be the size/scope of TB racing but that's probably a good thing. In 2005 there were 7,000 Arabs registered with AHA, vs. 35,000 TBs born that year. -----Original Message----- From: Kristen A Fisher [mailto:kskf@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Tuesday, July 18, 2006 2:21 PM To: 'Truman Prevatt' Cc: 'Ridecamp' Subject: RE: [RC] TB Racing, Soundness, Speed, Hooves Actually Arabian racing is alive and well: http://www.arabianracing.org/. They are promoting themselves heavily and have some pretty good purses with not a lot of competitors. They race at 22 tracks across US and Canada. There is not much Arabian racing anymore. The only one in the East is Delaware. Tampa dropped it one Arab race of the week a couple years ago since they were not getting any more that 2 or 3 entries. There are a few other tracks around the country that haveArab racingbut it is on the decline. At one time the UAE and Saudi's were big into Arab racing. They've all gone into TB racing big time and don't supportArab racingmuch anymore. And they also go the otherway aroundthe track FWIW ;-) Arabians are not allowed to race until they are 3.
