I think I posted this before (lomng ago probably)
Mix equal parts of the following and apply:

1) Miconazole 2%  (That's the main ingredient in Monistat 7 - generic cream is 
cheaper)
2) Triple Antibiotic cream (can buy in the grocery store)
3) 1% coritsone cream (can buy in the drug store)

You can use this for rain rot... for extra measure sprinkle some Lotrimin AF 
(powder for
athletes foot) over the area. 

This mix kills yeats and bacteria & scratches is usually a mix of both.

Some people worried about the 1% cortisone cream if they were competeing- but 
if I recall-
the amount is so small that's not absorbed systemically  (Maybe a Vet can 
comment here)
