[RC] Fw: Arabian horses need home ASAP. - Jo Ann KnightJessica Tuteur wrote: From: "Jessica Tuteur" <jessicat@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [RC] Horses in Middletown - Whats the Story? So it seems that several of you know of these horses already. Can someone enlighten us to the "story" here? Is it another case of careless over breeding? Or did the owner have some thing happen that caused her to have to disperse her animals? I think if more people knew the truth maybe more could be persuaded to = help??? Just my thoughts. Jessica Jo Ann's Reply: Jessica, I am not sure but I think some of my postings didn't make it. I did not post the first email below which gives the earliest details (with one exception, which I deleted). I have posted subsequent emails and the latest info that Penngrove Hay and Grain had agreed to help and people could donate money for feed there. Here is are two names and a phone number which cut and pasted from the second email I have included here: Dianna and Tim EnviroMin 707-360-7200 What the very first email I recieved said, and I deleted that one, is that the owner was considered a "horder" and ordered to disperse the horses or they would be taken for auction or slaughter. Now this statement I don't have "proof" of. Most of the emails I have recieved have from the Golden Gate Arabian Horse Club, Debbie Wiggman who forwarded the emails to club members, have all said about the same thing. As I said you can contact them if you want to. I have told Debbie that I have been posting some of the emails about this situation and she had said that she tried but couldn't get it done. So I am sure you can contact her as well. Her email address is also in this post (WIGGY62@xxxxxxx ) To get more details and the "true story" you should contact one of the people whos email and phone number (if you want to call them) appears in one of the two emails below. The last email I am including here is the one about Penngrove Hay and Grain and it also gives more information about the horses. This is one of the emails I posted to ridecamp and I have not seen it yet unless I am just overlooking it. But I am saving all my emails the last several days so I can track what I have done and so that I can resend any that need resending. I hope this helps. I am not sure why all the posts I have made have not shown up, and that is why I also placed your email directly on this email incase this post doesn't make it! Some of my posts are there and I have seen them over the couple days I started this. But so far I haven't found them all. Thank you for asking the question. Someone else asked it too and I had sent them info, but failed to post my reply to them to ridecamp as well! Duah! -- Jo Ann Bleow is one email, the second one is below this -------Original Message------- From: Sybil1432@xxxxxxx Date: 7/2/2006 12:58:45 AM To: WIGGY62@xxxxxxx Subject: Arabian horses need home ASAP. Debbie, Could you please forward this e-mail to all club members. This is an e-mail in response to the Arabians needing homes. Today Melissa and I went to meet with Theresa in Middle town. A friend we had met many years ago. To see if we could help in any way. We knew that she had very nice mares and stallions and didn't want to see them go to slaughter. The e-mail that was sent out stated that there were 15 stallions all running with mares. And horses ranging from 2 days to 25 years. True fact is there are 4 stallions running with between 6 to 8 mares, with most mares having foals at least 2 to 3 months of age or ready to foal. And some 3 and 4 year old stallions that are in pens by themselves. All 1 and 2 year olds were taken on Friday a total of 30 head. These horses have pretty heads and good legs and feet. And the stallions all 4 were very very sweet, and loved the attention they were given. They didn't mind us joining their herd to look at their babies not one bit. We say we love the breed and want save it, but no one wants to help her. There are mares ready to foal and new babies that are going to go to slaughter, It was very hard to leave there today. We were there for over 10 hours. She did tell us that yes they have told her they will be back to take every horse August 1st. She is not asking a lot of money for her horses. but needs to pay her feed bill. She has over 50 head left. If someone wants to give a mare and foal a good home and only pay around 3 hundred dollars for it, Melissa and I will go and get it for you and bring to your house for a hauling fee, Or will ride with you to pick them out, and to help to get them in the trailer. These horses are not going to an Auction, they are going to slaughter. Please call Theresa @ 707-987-3423 or 707-987-2635 Or Sydni @ 707-396-3861 We can all go there and say how we would have done things different, but after all is said and done the end result is they are all going to die if we don't help them. I know once you get there you will be glad you came to help save a babies life. Sydni ------------------------------------------------------------------- Email 2 From: Tim Stoltzfus Date: 7/10/2006 1:28:20 PM To: Debbie Subject: Miracles Happen! Update on the Middletown Arabs. Penngrove Hay & Grain just agreed to work with us at Micro Minerals to feed these horses for the next 2 full weeks, until they find homes! That is 1 000's of dollars worth of donations to help these horses. So any donations other than for hay might go to Penngrove Hay & Grain. They even offered to deliver a pallet of grain and pellets if we can't fit it all into our truck. A big thanks to Sydni Davenport, the horse angel, for all her hard work up to this point. Tim and I are heading up with her to Middletown tomorrow afternoon with a truckload of Micro Minerals and feed from Penngrove. (Alert, for anyone who has bought one of these weak animals. Caution against using strong wormers and meds. Use the Micro Minerals as a slow natural wormer, and a way to strengthen their digestive system. Sydni tried it last week on her weakest mare and it helped in 3 days. These animals are so weak, the organic, natural methods will be gentler on their systems.) We are going to write an article to give credit to all those who worked so hard to help these beautiful horses. After we find homes for all them, that is... If anyone knows of a farm or ranch with space, we might be able to buy all of the remaining herd and care for them, fatten them up, get them needed care, and then find good homes for them. Any ideas out there?
