I carry beet
pulp…..mixed with a handful of grain….the same ratios
they get here at home…and at rides. At rides it’s
mixed with Perform ‘n Win. Easy to do. Gallon
bag with a double handful of well soaked beat pulp and a small can of
Omolene. Mix well, squeeze the air out, seal, place in Wad
‘R Bucket, and roll tightly. Fiits nicely in a cantle bag.
If the ride is longer than 4 hours, I will carry two of them. I
also carry that at rides where I can’t have a crew at an away vet
check. Feed every two hours. IMHO, Susan is right on the money.
Works for me.
Yep, I do the same sort of mix (only I use Equine
Seniior)--but don't worry about it on training rides where we have
time to take grass breaks, and in our region, the RMs pack the stuff out
to the vet checks for us crewless folks so I don't pack it with me
there, either.
I can’t
afford to feed granola bars as horse treats. J
Me
either!
