FL has a federal grant and for a time span they are going to popular riding areas and putting in chips for people for a very reasonable price. The Ag stations at the FL border are getting ready for it. One of the Ag officers there told me "it's a done deal." I had to register my farm to get my coggins cards and equine passports this year. The vet told me that the reason these ID cards were so cheap (5 bucks for the Coggins cards) was the feds were subsidizing the cost. It sounds like a fright train coming and will be very difficult to stop.
