Re: [RC] mustangs in endurance - Barbara MoultonGorgeous George was a mustang who did Tevis- don't know if he ever was a winner- the sad story of his young passing I read on endurance net is what convinced me that even though Joy is sound now I will stick to LD only with her once she is finished with maternity leave and gets back into condition. She was starved by her former owner for 2 1/2 years before I bought her- He thought it would "calm " her down and make her easier to train since he never could do anything with her dam and just dumped her big beautiful black mommie cheap into a paint farm brood band. I suspect my little Joy got stunted by that treatment as all Little Owyhee horses I have ever seen have been really big with draft influence. Joy is healthy now but endurance isn't called endurance for nothing, every system gets stressed to the limit. I have done lots of slow all day rides on her with no ill effects so we will be the LD turtle team. Barbara, Joy a busy mommie and Bonnie " don't leave me in the pen, come back, whaaaaaaaaa" __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
