RE: [RC] English stirrup leathers for Cheyenne - Sharon LevasseurThey're not round rings, they're rectangular. 2" across on the part where the stirrup leather will hang. I just called Barefoot and they said the stirrup rings are exactly 2"... so I'm wondering if the 2" stirrup straps would be too tight of a fit. You keep saying "rings". I'm used to stirrups hanging over "bars" which is what mine hang from. If what you're going through really is round, I would think it would crimp up a 2" biothane, make it lumpy and hard to adjust. Angie -Sharon L. Quoting rides2far@xxxxxxxx:LOVE my 2" Biothane leathers. I'm sure they make sheepskin coversforthem since all Ortho-Flex used to come with them. No problems ontheturning. Not that stiff. E-Z rides & other endurance stirrups comewith a2" bar if you request it. You couldn't pay me to ride in Englishstirrupsafter riding in E-Z rides! HOWEVER I'm looking at other options besidestheones that Barefoot markets to go with them... specifically biothaneleathersin either 1.5" or 2". (Will 2" leathers even fit through the stirrupring?)Can you get black sheepskin covers to go over leathers thatwide? If so, from where? I thought perhaps the 2" leathers would stop that issue with the leathers being so much narrower than the stirrup ring that they slid front tobackand had to be anchored in place. I've never used 2" stirrup leathers before, only 1" englishleathersand regular western fenders. Do you end up with similar issues to western fenders, ie difficulty getting them to turn correctly for comfortablestirrupposition?
