I didn't post anything about it because I didn't figure many endurance folks 
would be much interested. The topic has been much discussed on several 
mustang lists and many of us have already written letters to the director of 
Fisheries and Wildlife and to our Congressional representatives. It was a 
deplorable situation and I am disgusted by the blatant negligence exhibited 
by the people responsible for the well-being of these horses, but instead of 
spending time and emotional energy discussing it on email I have been busy 
contacting the people who need to be held accountable for their dereliction 
of duty. It is extroardinarily frustrating that the BLM receives so much 
scrutiny and criticism for its own mustang program. Of course it has made 
mistakes and had problems with the program, but the BLM makes a concentrated 
effort to do what it feels is necessary for the good of the mustangs. But 
then when something like the Sheldon gather this past week occurs, the 
agency responsible immediately does its best to cover it up and the whole 
thing barely makes a ripple. Well, those of us that love mustangs are doing 
our best to make the biggest ripple we can!
