They are primarily to keep a bathed horse's legs clean and prevent them from scratching or bruising their legs on the trailer or themselves and that is it - not supporting the bone or joint structures from concussion and jarring from road movement while in the trailer. Jen in SC I know that's the theory behind wrapping, but I don't buy it myself. Considering the weight of the horse, the structure of the leg and the joints, and the physics involved, I just don't believe that wrapping provides any meaningful "support" or concussion relief. IMO all it does is cover the leg (which can have some benefit in preventing scrapes). -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.chiprider.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
