[RC] mustangs in endurance - JonniHi. I usually lurk. However, this has come up. How many mustangs have won the Tevis? And how have/are mustangs doing in endurance these days?Or can someone point me in the direction where I can find out this info?<<<< http://www.foothill.net/tevis/ Go to the Historical tab above the photos, and you can see all the winners, and breeds of horses. All horses who came in first have been Arabian or part Arabian with the exception of 1959 Nick Mansfield on Buffalo Bill who was a TB Cross and in 1960 Ernie Sanchez on Marko B who was a Mustang. The Haggin cup winners have had a few Non-Arabians. 1966 Frank Moan on Barney a TB/Quarter and in 1969 Walter Tibbitts rode Ruff Spots Banner an Appaloosa, 1998 Sandy Brown rode Ruby the Mule to win the Haggin Cup. If you look up the horse names MUSTANG LADY in the AERC records, you will see she came in 2nd, and 4th two years at Tevis, and did really well at other rides. http://www.doublejoy.com/erol/Individual/HorseHistory.asp You type in her name, and can see her record. There are other Mustangs that have done VERY well. Jonni in TX =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
