Re: [RC] July 4th Parade - Beverley H. Kane, MDFor the town parade last year, the theme was Luau. We dressed our Norwegian Fjord therapeutic riding horses up as hula girls--grass skirts, tube bras made out of tropical material, leis, elastic flower bracelets on their hooves and ears. It was hilarious! You could maybe do something similar w/ a Statue of Liberty theme--fly sheet painted red, white, & blue--made to look like Liberty's toga, pointed crown. Or you dress like a horse and dress your horse as Paul Revere w/ a 3-pointed hat. Word of caution is not to have flapping things and shiny, glinty things that might spook other horses. A lot of horses in these parades aren't quite ready for the experience.
