[RC] Colombia - quick update - stephteeterFantastic hosts - this is a group of enthusiastic, eager to learn, endurance riders. They're keeping us busy, so only a moment for email. Spend yesterday touring a little with Mauricio Mutis and his daughter Christina (half horse I think), hours at a great tack shop, I found more awards for the next ride! Lunch at a restuarant 'typico' - Colombian food - from the Medellin area, Gregory met us there, good fun. Shoppin a little, groceries for dinner and breakfast, then all off to the country to Mauricios's farm (only on weekends for now) - a most incredibly gorgeous place. We went riding, had a nice dinner, wine and conversation. late to bed, early to rise and on to the equestrian club for the seminar. 2 1/2 days of presentation to their group. Dinah prepared a power point presentation 'Endurance - Beyond the Basics'. She wore herself out talking I think, but an eager and appreciative audience, lots of good information. Steve and I piped in when we had something to ad, or questions to answer. Lots of questions, great folks - they actually know quite a bit, just lacking the years of experience. Then to dinner at Diego Arboleta's farm house - and old adobe with grass roof, reminded me of a hobbit house, very old, was passed on by his father. Nestled in a little valley up against the mountains. Too dark to take pictures, but incredibly scenic. (have I said how beatiful it is here??). Several others joined us for dinner, again, fantastic food - nice time. Back to Gregory's, more conversation, Dinah was exhausted and crashed early. We'll all be up again early and back to the club for day 2. later!
