Re: [RC] Western States Buckle Purchase??? - Barbara McCrary
When I rode Tevis many years ago, the buckle
was given as a finishing award. I'm not sure, but I think nowadays there
is an option to ride at a lesser entry fee and pay extra for the buckle if you
want it. Someone who knows more about it might like to answer this
question.
I have a question, why do the riders "need" to purchase their
completion award buckle at the Tevis??? Has it always been that
way??? That's the only ride I am aware of (not to say there aren't
others) that does this. It just seems odd to me. If so, is there
something else that they actually give to the riders for completion, is it not
an AERC rule that a completion award be "given". Not trying to start
something, but we are wanting to come out there next year, and I noticed this
on the website. Frankly, I think is should be given to the riders.
