Re: [RC] tripping horse - Don HustonAs Karen Standefer pointed out there are a lot of things that can cause "folding" in the rear. Actually tripping and or folding are just indications that the horse has several problems but you need to start somewhere to find and eliminate pain and IMHO hoof pain should be fixed first. It's the pain that makes the horse compensate (like toe first or short-stepping) that in turn will start to cause tripping, etc. A pain free horse doesn't do this stuff. I didn't mean to imply that heel pain in the fronts would cause folding in the rear but who knows, when my back hurts I walk funny and lose agility especially going down stairs so if a rider was to make me go quickly down those stairs would I trip because my shoes were to long?Don Huston At 05:50 AM 6/14/2006 Wednesday, you wrote: Why does heel pain cause folding in the rear? -Sharon L. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
