Re: [RC] Saddle fit - Julie Fuller

A little reminder regarding saddle fit for the rider:

The past 6 weeks or so I have been helping a friend TRY to fit a saddle on her horse. It's been a nightmare, but we are making progress. In the meanwhile, I was neglecting my own saddle fit!

Last night it suddenly occurred to me that I was constantly pushing myself back in the seat, as well as feeling "all over the place" while posting. I've been riding in the same Syd Hill for several years, on the same two horses with nary a problem.

I stopped and shortened my leathers a notch. BINGO! I was back in the middle of my horse again! Who hoo! The leathers must have stretched a bit, slowly enough that I didn't notice. (Though I do routinely switch them from side to side so that the left one doesn't get longer than the right)

Thing is, now I'm gonna have all new sore muscles. *sigh* Just another reason we call it endurance.

Julie
