Yep, sounds just like Chagalle. If he is tied and you try to saddle him, he goes up and over. I have worked with him and we have come to an agreement. He is not tied, I can put the saddle on him and bring the cinch up to barely touching the very tips of his hair. Then he gets to walk in a circle. When he is ready, he'll come to me, I'll tighten just a bit, then give him an apple wafer. He continues to walk in a circle, comes up to me, I tighten a bit more, then an apple wafer. This goes on until the cinch is snug/tight. Then we calmly walk back to the trailer and finish tacking up. This agreement didn't happen right away; it took some time for the two of us to work it out. This is the ONLY time I use the treats as a reward. It works, is done in a calm and SAFE manner and both of us are happy. Esther and Chagalle, who has finally found someone he can train to saddle his way __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
