I think a dressage saddle would line you up better. I rode in a jumping saddle 
for awhile and the forward position KILLED my lower back.

it looks like i will have to invest in a new saddle. until now i've been riding in an all purpose.  the saddle fitter is coming out tomorrow with some 'samples'. of course the crucial thing for me is that it fit my mare. but lets say i get lucky and have a choice(;)), which one would you prefer for riding long distance - all purpose or dressage saddle? and one other question, to those of you who ride in an english style endurance saddle, how do those saddles work for doing flat work in an arena? is the rider's position comparable to a dressage saddle? what are their shortcomings in doing flat work?
