[RC] breeds of horses.................. - Mary Ann Spencer
I expect these numbers are slanted due the owners
preference. MANY riders have NO interest in being in the saddle the long
hours that endurance riders do. I know of riders who are like to ride
TWH but have no interest in endurance. That doesn't mean many TWHs can't
do endurance, given the appropriate training. Seems they would be ok as
they don't tend to have bulky muscles and were developed for long riding days
with comfort for the rider. IMHO

Amongst Arabs, probably >seven or eight out of ten candidates could
probably do endurance riding >successfully. In another breed, say
Tennessee Walkers, maybe only two or >three could do it. This is probably
true of many of the non-Arab breeds.
