Re: [RC] Kristi saddle problem - Sharon LevasseurAnother thought. My saddle seems to fit the contours of my horse's back perfectly BUT apparently the entire saddle tips back a bit from where it should be. This causes the phenomenon Kristi described... except that while the saddle slides forward the pad is busy sliding back! After several attempts at shimming I finally got a "full rear lift" shim system from Skito which finally seems to have solved the problem! It's a full-length 1/2" piece of foam with a second 1/2" foam laminated below it. The part on the bottom only goes as far forward as the hollow behind his shoulders (and is cut on an angle to follow them). So far, so good! Even sweat patterns and a saddle that stays put. Just a thought to throw in the mix... -Sharon L. www.zegifts.com Quoting Barb Peck <bpeck9191@xxxxxxxxxxxx>: Kristi: If you have a saddle that fits a horses back perfectly, but the rigging is positioned too far back (for the horses conformation) then the saddle will move forward when the horse is going down hill. (UNLESS the horse has withers like the Andes Mountains to anchor it). What position is the rigging in?
