RE: [RC] Silly Question - heidi

Linda is correct about the fact that it is possible but a lot trickier to take BPs in horses, and that BP fluctuations are less meaningful relative to exertion.  From what I understand, horses do not get primary hypertension the way people do (stress or no stress)--but are far more likely than people to develop ulcers.

I really don't see that BPs would be of much help in predicting metabolic recovery.

Knowing that horses have stress and can develop ulcers,  and stress in people can elevate blood pressure, my question is:  Is there a means to calculate blood pressure in horses? and could that have some informative value that could be utilized along w/ pulse readings?  ts
