FW: [RC] wind and wild trail rides - Mike SherrellI don't think horses get calmer about wind any faster than they get calmer about surprises in general. In other words, the only way to calm them down about wind is to ride them for years, in the wind whenever it is windy. Horses do get excited by the wind. Sometimes they look to me like they are imagining themselves running across the open steppes, with their manes and forelocks blowing in the wind. Maybe you should just try to get a contact high! I realize many horses get a bit fresh on windy days, but I wonder if anyone has suggestions on how to calm this tendency? Does it just take time on the trail, or are some horses just more bothered by it? Thanks, Jen PS - I promise this is the last time I'll pester you with newbie questions (at least for a while) - thanks for your patience! _________________________________________________________________ FREE pop-up blocking with the new MSN Toolbar ? get it now! http://toolbar.msn.click-url.com/go/onm00200415ave/direct/01/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
