Hi Angie,
When I say a lot easier,with sand,laterite,tarmac and some steep hills,speed demons will still get cooked even at whatever speed they conditioned.The horse is build on the same template,'international' or local.The sweating mechanism,heat diffusion capacity,metabolism follows definite physical laws and there iare only so much we mere mortals can play around with 'superior' conditioning.
Many will benefit from this more level playing field.Superiority artifial or otherwise from conditioning techniques,buying power ect etc will be obtunded and blurred.Pacing strategy,experience and wise choice of horses will play bigger role.
