Re: [RC] Batteries and LQ trailer - Sisu West RanchThe issues with solar panels are:1. They put out a limited amount of power, they may not replace the amount you have used especially if a furnace is in use. 2. They produce less power on cloudy days. They produce much less power if parked in the shade. 3. Cost. For those riding in sunny, treeless areas they are a good option. My personal solution to the power dilemma is: 1. I have 3 big batteries. Even with furnace going most of the time they will last a weekend 2. I replaced all incandescent lights with fluorescent and LED. In the summer the batteries last a week. 3. I recently purchased a Honda 2000i mostly to run Wendy's microwave and the furnace on week long rides.
