Re: [RC] Resting Heart Rate - rides2farWhen we condition she is down to 44 in a matter of seconds. Her resting rate is 28 to 32.My gelding who I have been conditioning for two years and riding in CTR and LD resting rate is 36/44. My first Arab endurance horse had a resting HR of 28 and pulsed down really fast...but he was slow as Christmas and acted tired (lazy). Kaboot usually vetted in at 44, (lowest I ever caught him (sleepy in the stall) was 36) and didn't recover as fast but finished HOURS faster, went twice as far (100's) and enjoyed it far more.Sure, it's nice to have one that out recovers the others, but that's just one of the qualities that makes one a good horse and there's plenty of others they can make up for it with. You might get extra points for the low rate in CT, but in Endurance 64 is what matters.
