Re: [RC] Pads for treeless saddles - Sharon LevasseurSarah, Yes, Skito pads are great for treed saddles! For treeless saddles, Skito recommends laminated foam inserts in the following situations: CASE 1: Rider is 130# or under but horse has either a moderately prominent spine or is very flat-backed (in the latter case, the laminated foam helps reduce the rider's hip spread): 1/2" foam plus 1/2" laminate (No extra charge). CASE 2: Rider is 130-160# and horse has either a moderately prominent spine or is very flat-backed (in the latter case, the laminated foam helps reduce the rider's hip spread): 3/4" foam plus 1/2" laminate ($10 extra). CASE 3: Rider is 160-190#: 3/4" foam plus 1/2" laminate ($10 extra). CASE 4: Rider is 190-230#: 3/4" foam plus 3/4" laminate ($10 extra). CASE 5: Rider is over 230#: Thin sheet of Lexan between foam and laminate ($15 extra). Sounds like you'd fit in either Case 2 or Case 3, for both of which the recommended solution is 3/4" foam with an additional 1/2" of laminated foam. If/when you're ready to order, I would be happy to provide you with a price quote. Sharon Levasseur www.zegifts.com PS: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "LOWLY" TRAIL RIDER. Quoting Ridecamp Guest <guest-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>: Please Reply to: Sarah Sarah@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Thanks for all the great info everyone! This list has been so helpful to me, a lowly trail rider. Thanks! Would a Skito pad be good for regular treed saddles as well? Can anyone tell me what type of Skito pad I would need for a Bob Marshall. More info: I'm 5'7" 160 lbs, ride a 14 h Paso Fino with a wide flat back, med withers, and little/no dip in her back, no 'wither pockets' to speak of. I ride around 8-15 miles per ride, sometimes 2-3 X week, and occasionally in rough steep 'make up your own trail' stuff.
