Re: [RC] Hard to Shoe Mare - Diane TrefethenHi Tracey,That sounds to me like about as perfect a resolution as you could have. I noted that you FIRST identified the problem, ie, Toc was petrified of a FARRIER at his rear end. Next you found a farrier willing to take the time to use the horse's own mind to work out the problem. Lastly, given the opportunity to think without fear, your horse was able to revise his attitude toward the shoeing process. Congratulations to you and Pete for your patience and respect for Toc's fear. It took about four shoeings until Pete could shoe him front and back in one go, without coming back the next day. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
