Re: [RC] Wobenzym -- BRUCE - Sharon LevasseurBruce, I am totally intrigued!! I'm only 30 but I have chronic muscle soreness and tightness, which contribute to a need for weekly chiropractic work (which I can't afford to get done weekly), AND I have ulcerative proctitis. I will, of course, speak with my doctors. But in the meantime, do you think this supplement would help me with those health issues? Second question. I frequently get headaches, and the only thing I've found that works on them is Excedrin Migrane, which contains aspirin. I'm not supposed to take aspirin because of my U.P. but I do anyway because it's the only thing that works on these blinding headaches. I read on the Wobenzym website that it shouldn't be taken with aspirin. How serious of a warning is this? What happens if someone takes an occasional aspirin while using it? I can't remember, are you a DC or and MD? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! -Sharon L. Quoting Bruce Weary <bweary@xxxxxxxxxxxx>: I'm glad to see someone mention Wobenzym, as I have been dispensing it for years to my patients. It is an enzyme formulation that aids in inflammation control and promotes healing. It comes from Germany, and outsells everything but aspirin over there. The world of nutritional supplements is largely unregulated, but Wobenzym has over 200 clinical trials demonstrating it's effectiveness on several health issues. It is the most well researcehd supplement in the world. Prescription and OTC antiinflammatories are well documented to actually impair healing, yet Wobenzym will enhance their effectiveness if taken in addition. You have to take several a day for acute conditions, somewhere between 8- 15 tabs per day (depending on your body weight) to get the concentration in the bloodstream up to therapeutic levels--not like taking meds. They have even demonstrated if you take a preventive dose of 3-5 tabs per day, new injuries do not produce as much swelling and inflammation as usual. It's safe, and has no significant side effects. If you are on blood thinners, you should avoid taking it unless your doctor approves. I'm not associated with the company in any way, but I am having an Amway meeting at my house tonight, if anyone is interested. :> Dr Q =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
