But what the heck, people can throw darts at this idea if they like. :) A friend had the vet inject ivermectin for worming a while back. The reason was that the dosage was more consistent. Her horse broke out in sores for weeks as the pin worms migrated to the surface and died. Instead, I'll use a double dose of ivermectin. Ivermectin (NOT MOXIDECTIN!!!) is well within a very safe limit and a double dose hasn't caused any issues for my horses at all. Blue hasn't rubbed his tail head hair off since. He did not, however, have the same die off as my friend's horse. Just a one horse anecdotal story...
