[RC] Riding Alone - k s swigart

Bruce Weary said:

I'm sure many of you out there have experienced
this kind of thing, and I was wondering what
suggestions you have for tactfully, but clearly,
communicating that I prefer to ride independently.
I'm all ears.

Ride a horse that makes other people's horses nervous to be
around...then people will avoid you like the plague; you won't have to
say a word, tactful or otherwise.

If you don't want to resort to getting a maniac horse, then these words
will suffice, "If you don't mind, I would rather ride alone." Can't get
much clearer than that. You don't have to come up with reasons or
excuses or explanations. You have now put the onus on them for coming
up with reasons, excuses or explanations if they DO mind.
