A foundered horse would quickly become lunch.Ed PS: The slow change is almost certainly important. We have neighbors who have access to sufficient grass that their horses are on pasture exclusively all the time. I have never seen a problem. They are in one field now, as soon as the other gets going really good, they will be moved and the field they are on now not grazed until next fall.
