[RC] guard dogs? - Dot WigginsI used to have a dog, mostly Aussie, no idea what else, that went every where we rode. He stayed close beside the horses till another dog started to come toward us. He just trotted out and got in front of the strange dog till we were past. He didn't fight, or attack the other dog, he just stayed between it and the horses. They never seemed to challenge him. Don't remember any pit bulls though. We didn't teach him, he just did it.I wonder if today's Dalmatians (used to be called coach dogs) would still do what they were originally bred for, run with the carriages/drays/ fire wagons and keep street dogs from spooking and chasing the horses? Anybody know? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
