Re: [RC] Microchipping website-DIY - agilbxrMy guys are all microchipped with Avid chips. I think it's a great method of identification. It is very easy to do, and as long as your horse doesn't object to needles, not an issue at all. It doesn't have the visual deterrant that a brand would have is some chose to steal my horse, but at least I could prove the horse was mine once I found them...even if their markings had been changed.
Of course, I am planning on branding the monsters too. My dogs are all microchipped and tatoo'd, why shouldn't my horse be? And I live in Florida. Who knows what the next hurricane season will bring.
Juli and the herd
Alpine (branding?????)
Spot (how do you brand a leopard appaloosa?)
Merlin (I don't even have my microchip yet cause mom has to go buy one....) -----Original Message----- From: L gin <ladurgin@xxxxxxx> To: Ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Mon, 17 Apr 2006 14:57:14 -0500 Subject: [RC] Microchipping website-DIY I was looking for a way to ID my horses-- and found this--- anybody use it --what are your thoughts on it?
