Re: [RC] Dog Attack! - Barbara McCraryWhy did I guess this story was going to end like it did? Could it be that Bruce has the most incredible capability for over-exaggeration. Or the funniest sense of humor? Naaawww! Couldn't be that.Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bruce Weary DC" <bweary@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 12, 2006 12:03 PM Subject: [RC] Dog Attack! I was riding on USFS land one day (where it is clearly posted that all dogs are to be leashed) and was suddenly attacked by the most vicious dog I have ever encountered. He leapt at my horse and grabbed the cantle of my saddle, my horse spun and flung him off. We took off at a dead run, and he not only caught us, but leaped and sunk his teeth into my horse's rear end and removed a chunk. This caused my horse to buck like there was no tomorrow, and I think I did a half-gainer before the earth came up and slammed the wind out of me. Then the dog came after me, and before I could get up, he was on my chest going for my throat! I blocked him with one forearm while I reached with the other hand for something to hit him with. Just then, his owner came up, and subdued the dog. I lay there with my heart pounding in my chest, dazed and glad to be alive. I slowly got up, spit the dirt out of my mouth and told the owner: "Lady, put that g*d d*mn dog back in your purse! If I see that Chihuahua loose again, I swear I'm gonna kill it! You think these cap guns are just for show?!! I'm not afraid to use them!!
