Hey Truman,
That was one great post. The best on the subject I have seen. Legally,
here in Illinois, the owner of an animal is 100% liable for damages it
causes to others off the owners property. However, that does not help
you during the incident at all does it?
As a distance biker I have used stream pepper spray but wouldnt use it
on my horse, might get me killed. A better "water bottle" solution than
water and vinegar is bleach.
However, I think Truman has it right. Turn the horse, get off if need
be (quickly mind you) and if necesary let your horse stomp the dog.
