Re: [RC] Dog attacks while riding - rdcarrie What about a strong squirtgun filled with a mixture of water and vinegar...shoot it at the dog's face/eyes? Using a squirtgun, you'd be firing a stream, less chance of the winde blowing it.

The area I ride has a rural county park where city people bring their dogs to run. Some of these dogs are uncontrollable and mean. Last week, a mastiff type dog attacked my horse. Luckily she was not severaly injured and the owner caught the dog before it went after me or my dog. Does anyone have suggestions for defending myself against dog attacks while riding? I live in Kansas and it's windy alot, so using MACE does not seem like a good idea for fear of it blowing into my face or my horses face. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
