[RC] Light therapy at endurance rides? - Kristi SchaafHi all - After my horses were used at our state horse fair this weekend for the LED (light therapy) demo, I've become fascinated with the therapeutic uses of light, researched its uses, and I now plan to purchase a unit for use on my horses (and myself). Because the cost is astronomical for me, I'm also contemplating using it on the side for clients to help recoup the cost. So, I'm putting feelers out (not trying to get clients just yet!). Hypothetically, would you be interested in having your horse scanned and treated with light therapy at a ride? I searched the ridecamp archives, and there was a discussion about this back in 2000 or so (Bioscan is probably the most commonly known brand name for this technology - my unit will be similiar). I realize that a horse can't legally be treated during the competition, but I would offer the service before or after the ride. Also, naysayers of light therapy, please save your fingers and don't respond; I work in a vet school so already know what many vets say about this 'hoodoo voodoo' therapy, and I don't intend to get into that debate.
