[RC] itchy and scratchy - JonniAngie had commented: "I'm liking less and less on my horse's head. Just more stuff to itch. If he's itching when I stop, he's not drinking. " I'm curious Angie, if your itchy horses are allowed to sometimes rub their heads on you, or something else when you are working with them. I am one of those mean riders, who does not allow her horse to rub and scratch an itch on me, and when they are to be drinking, they are not to be rubbing their head on there leg, or another horse etc. I've just always stopped them from doing so, and eventually, it seems they do not even try. But, I will admit, I do not currently have one of those super itchy horses. I know some just get in a frenzy almost of they can not rub. So, I'm curious if scratching and rubbing their heads is somewhat a "learned habit". I really stopped mine from rubbing when doing carriage driving, as they last thing you want, is a horse to rub it's bridle off while hitched to a carriage. And have just found it is so pleasant to not have them always trying to rub on something, thus distracted from drinking, and maybe even rubbing their bridle off.
