[RC] [RC] Diesel at $3 a gallon /Biodiesel - LaFollett, MeganErick, There are grass-roots forums out there that can tell you how to make algae-derived biodiesel at home for yourself. I don't know a lot about it, because my group focused on commercial-scale production. Biodiesel is equivalent to petroleum-based diesel...except its "purer" -- since it hasn't been sitting in the ground for eons, there are no contaminants and none of the hydrocarbon chains have degraded. It's actually because of the purity that you can get a gel-ing issue, but there are additives that fix that. http://biodiesel.infopop.cc/groupee/forums/a/frm/f/1501000031 --good forum for home biodiesel production ~Megan ________________________________________________________________________ ___ "Is it practical to create a small scale distillery for private use? I have looked into bio-diesel and for farm use I am seriously considering making some of my own. Does anyone out there have personal experience with towing heavy loads using Bio-Diesel? How about in cold weather, I hear that it jells at a higher temp than #2 Diesel does? -Erick-" =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
