RE: [RC] Empty finish line - Susan & Jerry Milam

Actually, that did sorta happen to me a few years ago at City Slickers. It
was over 80 degrees and the first ride of the season for us coming down from
the North. My horse still had lots of winter coat so I rode very
conservatively all day and I think I was next to last or therabouts. I
finished around 5pm and only the vet was there. All he checked was my pulse
and sent me on my way back to camp. 

My horse coliced later that night and required tubing.

Never even got a completion award.

Will never go back there.

Did that actually happen to you?  If so, I would fire that crew without the
customary 30 days notice.  How awful.

I cannot imagine anything more depressing to a rider than to arrive 
at the finish line to discover everyone has left, including the vets.


I can! If you crew left with your rig...that would definately be more 
depressing.
